Beginner's Guide: Creating Your First Sim

This is probably the most exciting part of playing The Sims Freeplay, creating your first sim!  So, let's get going!

II. CREATING YOUR FIRST SIM

Let's launch the game by clicking on its icon on your device.  I am using an android tablet and here's what it looks like:

You'll see this upon start up:

Just wait for the game to load and you'll see this:

Choose "START NEW GAME" for now. I will be creating a separate post for THE CLOUD as you'll be needing it every now and then to save your game progress. The intro follows next.

This is going to be your first sim's house. Some simmers later  convert this house to a "Task House" where all the social task items are stuffed inside to help visiting neighbors complete their social tasks without jumping from one town or house to another.

Now it's time to create your first sim! Click on the green bubble with a house icon on top of the house.

This is a random female sim. Notice there are two tabs: the first one on the left (which looks like a candy) shows your sim's DNA where you can choose the gender, name and skin tone of your sim.  You may also choose a random sim by clicking on the orange bar at the bottom.

The second tab is for your sim's wardrobe where you can choose hats, hair color and style, shape of the head and facial features, eye color, tops, pants, and shoes for your sim.

Once you are done customizing your sim, click on save and then yes to start with this sim.

That was easy, right? Now, let's get back to the game!

BUYING / SELLING / MOVING ITEMS During the course of your game, you will be buying, selling and moving items a lot, so, here's how to do it.  Let's have  buying a toilet as our first example.  See the icon of a chair and a lamp right there? Click it to access the Home Store where you can buy items for your sim's house. Choose the furniture tab on the upper left side and then click on bathroom tab to see the items for your sim's bathroom.  At this level (level 1), you only have one for each bathroom items. As you level up, more items will be unlocked and available in the home store. For now, let's choose the Stains Bros. Toilet by clicking on it. To move the toilet, tap on the Home Store, just like when you are buying items.   To position the toilet to your desired location, just tap on the object, click and hold the circle with four arrows, and drag to where you want the toilet to be. Beginner's Guide: Adding A Sim

The ability to add a sim depends on the following: 1. Your town's sim count - You are only allowed a certain number of sims per level, so check your town's sim count if you haven't reached the maximum yet for your current level.   2.  Available houses - If one of your sims get married or moves in with another sim, his or her house will become vacant.  A green house means it's vacant.  You can add a new sim to that vacant house or relocate another sim or an entire household to that house. 3. Available simoleons / LPs / SPs - If you plan to add a sim and have not yet exceeded your town's allowable sim count, you can add a sim by buying a house or a vacant lot.  Check how much simoleons / LPs / SPs you have as against the cost of the house you want to buy.  Once you have bought a new house, you will have the ability to add a new sim to your town. With all the above conditions met, you can add a sim to your town in three ways: 1.  Buy a
