Beginner's Guide: Installation

I. INSTALLATION Sometimes the simplest things seem hard when you are so overwhelmed or excited to start you forget what to do or how to do it. So, where can you download the game from? And how do you install it? The Sims Freeplay can be downloaded from your mobile's Google Play store (for Android) or from your mobile's App Store (for iOS): Before you download it 'though, please read the requirements (such as a stable internet connection ) and make sure that your device has enough storage for these (the app size is 13.25 MB, but I suggest you allot at least 1 GB for additional content and for enough memory to play the game). Once you have downloaded the app, just follow the rest of the instructions on installation in the game.  Next: II. Beginner's Guide: Creating Your First Sim

This is probably the most exciting part of playing The Sims Freeplay, creating your first sim!  So, let's get going! II. CREATING YOUR FIRST SIM Let's launch the game by clicking on its icon on your device.  I am using an android tablet and here's what it looks like: You'll see this upon start up: Just wait for the game to load and you'll see this: Choose "START NEW GAME" for now. I will be creating a separate post for THE CLOUD as you'll be needing it every now and then to save your game progress. The intro follows next. This is going to be your first sim's house. Some simmers later  convert this house to a "Task House" where all the social task items are stuffed inside to help visiting neighbors complete their social tasks without jumping from one town or house to another. Now it's time to create your first sim! Click on the green bubble with a house icon on top of the house.  ...

Beginner's Guide: Navigating the camera

NAVIGATING THE CAMERA The first part of the tutorial is learning how to pan the camera.  Panning only means moving the camera or view to a different location.  Just touch and hold (don't let go) anywhere in the screen and move your finger toward the part that you wish to explore. You can move to the left or right, up or down.   Or you can rotate the camera clockwise or counterclockwise. Zoom in or out. That's it! Beginner's Guide: Caring For Your Sims

Just like us humans, your sims have basic needs that you have to fulfill in order for them to become "inspired" (you'll know your sims are inspired once you see green sparkles around your sim and the cupcake icon found just above the needs bar stops flashing) and have the energy to work, perform tasks or hobbies, and to earn more than an "uninspired" sim would. 1. HUNGER To fulfill a preteen, teen and adult sim's hunger, all you have to do is tap on a fridge, a meal cooked by a sim, or a Thanksgiving Banquet (it's a dining table found in the Dining Room tab of the Home Store) and pick from the choices what to give your sim.  For an infant and toddler, tap on an adult sim to be fed. 2.  BLADDER To empty a sim's bladder, just tap on a toilet and let your sim use it. 3.  ENERGY To fulfill energy, let your sim sleep on a bed or sit on a sofa or chair, or have a coffee by tapping on a coffee machine or tea set. 4. HYGIENE To tidy up yo...

Beginner's Guide: Buying / Selling / Moving Items

BUYING / SELLING / MOVING ITEMS During the course of your game, you will be buying, selling and moving items a lot, so, here's how to do it.  Let's have  buying a toilet as our first example.  See the icon of a chair and a lamp right there? Click it to access the Home Store where you can buy items for your sim's house. Choose the furniture tab on the upper left side and then click on bathroom tab to see the items for your sim's bathroom.  At this level (level 1), you only have one for each bathroom items. As you level up, more items will be unlocked and available in the home store. For now, let's choose the Stains Bros. Toilet by clicking on it. To move the toilet, tap on the Home Store, just like when you are buying items.   To position the toilet to your desired location, just tap on the object, click and hold the circle with four arrows, and drag to where you want the toilet to be. Notice the toilet is highlight...

Beginner's Guide: Building / resizing / selling a room

To build a room, tap on the Home Store, select "House" tab on the left, and follow the instructions shown in the screenshot below: To sell a room, tap on the Home Store, select "House" tab, click on a room, and tap on the red simoleon icon.  You will be prompted to select either yes or no for selling the item. *Please note that t his article is for educational purpose only;  the information are given in good faith and are believed to be correct at the time of writing, and may change from time to time without notice.  The images uploaded on this site were screen-captured during gameplay only; no copyright infringement intended.

Beginner's Guide: Adding A Sim

The ability to add a sim depends on the following: 1. Your town's sim count - You are only allowed a certain number of sims per level, so check your town's sim count if you haven't reached the maximum yet for your current level.   2.  Available houses - If one of your sims get married or moves in with another sim, his or her house will become vacant.  A green house means it's vacant.  You can add a new sim to that vacant house or relocate another sim or an entire household to that house. 3. Available simoleons / LPs / SPs - If you plan to add a sim and have not yet exceeded your town's allowable sim count, you can add a sim by buying a house or a vacant lot.  Check how much simoleons / LPs / SPs you have as against the cost of the house you want to buy.  Once you have bought a new house, you will have the ability to add a new sim to your town. With all the above conditions met, you can add a sim to your town in three ways: ...

Beginner's Guide: What is the maximum number of sims I can have and how do I unlock them?

Perhaps one of the many reasons why gamers prefer The Sims Freeplay over The Sims Mobile is the ability to have more than 4 playable sims in your town. The Sims Mobile allows you up to 4 sims only, while in The Sims Freeplay, you can have a maximum of 55 sims, but without VIP perks, you can only have up to 34 sims.  You can add one new sim at VIP Level 6, 8, and 10; and 4 more sims at VIP Level 15 which gives you 7 additional sims with your town limit totalling to 41 sims.  Check out below table to know how and when you can unlock sims in the game.   LEVEL SIM UNLOCKED? SIM COUNT 1 YES 2 sims 2 NO 2 sims 3 YES 3 sims 4 YES 4 sims 5 YES 5 sims 6 YES 6 sims 7 YES 7 sims 8 YES 8 sims 9 YES 9 sims 10 YES 10 sims 11 YES 11 sims 12 YES 12 sims 13 YES 13 sims 14 YES 14 sims 15 YES 15 sims ...
